Places you have never been..

Cherish your solitude.
take trains by yourself to places you have never been.
sleep alone under the stars.
learn how to drive a stick shift.

go so far away that you stop being afraid of not coming back.
say no whenever you donít want to do something.
say yes if your instincts are strong,
even if everyone around you disagrees.

decide whether you want to be liked or admired.
decide if fitting in is more important than finding out what youíre doing here.
~ Eve Ensler

*thank you Leonie for this reminder... :)

What I am learning is...

porch. boots. flowers.

"..It's enough to be on your way
It's enough just to cover ground
It's enough to be moving on

Home, build it behind your eyes
Carry it in your heart
Safe among your own..."
james taylor

What I am learning
is not just how to figure out my own pace in all of this,
but to be completely okay with it...to be okay when there
there is still so much to do and so many expectations, and
limited energy.

What I am learning is that doing what I love most,
is one of the greatest helps...Being with my family,
traveling, spending time with the kids at work,
all while having my very needed times of solitude too.

What I am learning is that some memories
give me true comfort,
and others make me feel like my heart
has been put through a food processor.

What I am learning that I can survive the very thing
I have always feared the very most, losing someone in my family.

And I am learning that surviving still includes feeling pretty lost at times.

But I am finding my way...

And just because...
