steve.

the soundtrack.
as i drove home trying to make some sort of sense of your leaving, i found there were words that continued to ripple through my mind.
how you loved.
how you laughed.
your music.
your friends.
your faith.
your family.
your adventures.
the compass...
and i was thinking,
what beautiful words to remain at the end of this day...
and i was thinking that while death is so excruciating in so many ways,
it also gives to those of us still here the most sacred gift of all ~
the reminder to love large, and to live fully.
to kick judgement and fear to the curb so we can
make room for more beauty and grace and freedom
and laughter. to stay true and to keep the faith.
to forgive ourselves and each other and
to keep on, keeping on.
my last memory of you Steve was a conversation we were having about the golden bridesmaid dresses at your brother's wedding, and how much fun we had...and then of course, we talked about music and what our own soundtrack would sound like if we were to produce it.... i remember that moment so perfectly.
driving home yesterday, i felt especially grateful to have your cd with me,
your music, your words, a little sample of your soundtrack that surely could be a 10 disc set...
all i know, is that heaven got lucky the day you showed up....
keep on rockin' in the free world..
peace.

i can be sure...

i can be sure i am in the right place when a job seems more like play than work. i can be sure i am working with the right people when it's clearly about collaboration rather than competition....i can be sure that when i loosen the grip and follow spirit rather than fear, the adventure will be filled with beauty and magic.
