yes to spending this second half of my life with someone
so fun,
so kind,
so thoughtful,
so beautiful,
so grounded,
so true,
so loving,
so amazing....
yes to someone whose smile melts my heart every single time he walks into a room.
yes to someone who knows what matters most,
yes to someone who is patient and strong and incredibly handsome :)
yes to the one i love so, so, much
and then more than that
and then that x 1000000.
yes to my companion in adventures,
yes to my biggest support,
yes to the one who continues to surprise me and never gives up,
yes to the man who makes me feel important,
and capable,
and beautiful,
and so deeply loved.
yes to happiness,
and to second chances,
and to renewed hope...
we had such a great time sunning it for a few days.
it didnt take me even 20 minutes to enter into relaxation mode.
but it is certainly taking some time to adjust to being back here,
.... the weather is making sure of that. (rainy, cold, yucky)
still shaking the sand out of my suitcase...
still trying to land...
My dear friend Stef and I have been in contact for a few years now, and ever since I found out that she lived in the midwest, not too far from where I grew up, there was a kindred connection.
Stef had this idea of collaborating with me about living in the midwest (and how she misses it) and she living in California (near the coast which I long to be by) .We could share our together, ...through photos.
Our story:
Midwest girl moves to California
but ends up missing the Midwest.
They say: "You can take the girl out of the midwest but you can't take the midwest out of the girl"
Midwest girl lives in the Midwest
but her heart belongs to the coast.
They say: "You can stay in the midwest, but you can always travel!"
The first venture out was to our local hang outs: HobNob
in Alameda, CA and Benedicts
in East Dundee, Il.
Stef: "The HobNob is a cute, quaint little joint in DT Alameda where we usually go whenever we get a date night out. Its easy, the eats are fun and a bit more exciting than any other bar/grill and the icing on the cake is that they have games ...yes, games. They used to have Connect 4 on each table but now you have to give them your first born before checking one out at
the bar. The owners are great and the decor and art on the walls makes me
feel like I'm actually out in the city and not in our small town.
Jen: "Benedicts is a cozy little breakfast spot, just over the river... This
places specializes in friendliness and morning delights. There is
nothing like a room filled with smiling staff, coffee served in a bright
Fiestaware mugs, and the fattest bowl of oatmeal sprinkled with all kinds
of goodness to get the day off to a bright start. No Connect Four (though
I love that game) but they have a tree ~ right in the middle of this
little house is a tree, a live one, growing right through the floor, and
up through the roof, complete with its own tree house. Good stuff.
*Where I get my boots. You know, the ones Karen always tries to steal from me.
*The movie I recently saw and really connected with: Away We Go (and the soundtrack is way dreamy)
***One of my most favoirte places to find treasures.
*What I watch when I want to get beautifully lost in memories and future dreams...
*Whose homemade tortilla soup alongside one of her books is the only cure for these rainy cold days..
*The person I am so grateful for because he took time out of his work day to figure out and clean the mess I had here on my site ~ The amazing and brilliant Mr.RICH (Gypsy Girl's husband). Thank you so much, I love you guys!
Send me your recent lists of goodies...I would love to know!
