ive been asked all sorts of really personal
questions:

"didnt you want children?"
"didn't you try fertility treatments?"
"arent you worried about who is going to take care of you when you are old?"
"have you thought about adopting?"
"arent you angry?"
"is it that you didnt want to give up your career?"
"how old are you? dont your hear your biological clock ticking?!"

if i had a dime, even a penny, for every careless comment made to me about the status of my motherhood ~ i could retire and still buy antique jewelry.

a word to the wise,
some people have tried like crazy to have a child and cannot.
some people have lost a child.
some people have chosen to be child-free.

so be kind, be sensitive, be respectful.

we all have a story, and not all of us care
to share it with a stranger.
